Who we are
This privacy policy explains how GoodFarmer Food Concepts Private Limited, trading as Maverick & Farmer Coffee (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit www.maverickandfarmer.com, buy from us, subscribe, or get in touch. Our registered address is No. 141, next to Kanti Sweets, beside Maverick & Farmer Coffee, Kothanur Main Road, Bangalore 560077, Karnataka, India.
We handle personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them. If you live outside India, the section “If you live outside India” below also applies to you.
What we collect
- When you order or subscribe: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing addresses, what you buy and your order history.
- When you pay: payment details are entered with our payment partner, not with us. We never see or store your full card number, UPI PIN or banking password.
- When you create an account: your login details and saved addresses.
- When you contact us: what you tell us by email, phone, WhatsApp or the forms on the site.
- When you take our coffee quiz or sign up for emails: your answers and your email address.
- When you write a review: your name, your review and any photos you add.
- When you browse: information about your device and your visit, such as your browser, IP address, time zone, the pages and products you view, what you search for, and how you reached us. This is collected automatically through cookies, log files, tags and pixels.
Why we use it
- To roast, pack and deliver your order, and to send you order confirmations, invoices, dispatch and tracking updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
- To run your subscription: schedule deliveries, take payment, remind you before a renewal, and handle changes and cancellations.
- To answer your questions and deal with complaints, refunds and replacements.
- To send you news and offers by email, where you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email.
- To run our reviews and loyalty rewards.
- To make the site load and work properly for you, to understand how it is used so we can improve it, and to measure and show our advertising.
- To screen orders for fraud and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Your consent
We use your personal data with your consent, which you give when you place an order, create an account, subscribe or sign up, or where the law allows us to use it without consent, for example to complete a purchase you asked for or to meet a legal obligation. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawing it does not affect anything we did before, and we may not be able to complete an order without the details it needs.
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. Shopify, which runs our checkout, uses limited automated checks to prevent fraud, such as temporarily blocking an IP address or card linked to repeated failed payments. These blocks last a few hours or a few days.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the shop, and only as much as each one needs:
- Shopify, which hosts our online store and processes orders. You can read how Shopify handles personal data at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.
- Our payment partners, including Razorpay, which process payments and subscription autopay.
- Recurpay, which manages subscriptions.
- Shiprocket and our courier partners, Blue Dart, Delhivery, MOVIN and India Post, which deliver your order and send tracking updates.
- Mailchimp, which sends our emails.
- Judge.me, which collects and displays product reviews.
- Smile, which runs our loyalty rewards.
- Google, Meta and Microsoft (Clarity), which provide site analytics and advertising, as described below.
We may also disclose personal data where the law requires it, for example in response to a court order or a lawful request from a government authority, or where it is needed to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the site, including recordings of how pages are scrolled and clicked. We use Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to show our advertising to people who may be interested in our coffee, including people who have visited our site, and to measure how well those adverts work. To do this, these partners receive information about your visit, your purchases and how you interact with our ads, mostly through cookies and pixels.
You can opt out of personalised advertising and analytics here:
- Google ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com
- Google Analytics opt-out add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

Cookies
A cookie is a small file saved on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let the site remember your cart, your login and your choices, so you do not have to re-enter them on every page, and they tell us how the site is used. We use four kinds:
| Kind | What they do | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Keep your cart, checkout and login working, keep the site secure, and remember your cookie choices. The shop cannot work without them. | Shopify |
| Analytics | Show us which pages are visited, how people arrive and how they move around the site. | Shopify, Google, Microsoft Clarity |
| Advertising | Measure our adverts and show you relevant ones on other sites and apps. | Google, Meta |
| Reviews and rewards | Display product reviews and keep track of your loyalty points. | Judge.me, Smile |
Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them; most of ours expire between 30 minutes and two years after they are set. A full list of the cookies Shopify uses is at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under “Settings”, “Privacy” or “Preferences”. If you block essential cookies, parts of the shop, such as the cart and checkout, will not work. Blocking cookies may not stop all sharing with our advertising partners, so please also use the opt-out links above.
Do Not Track
There is no agreed industry standard for responding to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers, so we do not change how we collect data when we receive one. You can still use the cookie and advertising controls described above.
Where your data is stored
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, store and process data on servers outside India, including in Canada and the United States. Where that happens, your data is handled under their own security and privacy commitments and the protections described in this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal data for as long as you have an account or an active order or subscription with us, and for as long as we need it to deliver orders, handle refunds and resolve disputes. Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. After that we delete your data or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
Our store runs on Shopify, and payments are handled by our payment partners, both of which use industry-standard security, including encryption of payment data. Within our team, access to your personal data is limited to the people who need it to serve you. No system is completely secure, but if a breach affects your personal data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop using it for marketing, or withdraw your consent;
- let someone you nominate exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to.
Write to us at info@goodfarmerfoods.in. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
If you live outside India
We ship internationally, so some of our customers live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and elsewhere. If data protection law where you live gives you further rights, we will honour them. In particular, if you live in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom:
- we use your personal data to perform our contract with you (your order or subscription), to meet our legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in running and improving our shop where these do not override your rights, and, for marketing and non-essential cookies, with your consent;
- you can also ask for a copy of your personal data in a portable format, ask us to restrict how we use it, and object to our using it for our legitimate interests or for direct marketing;
- your data is transferred to India, where we are based, and to the countries where our service providers operate. Shopify explains how its transfers comply with European law at https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/privacy-and-security/privacy/international-data-transfers;
- you can complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at info@goodfarmerfoods.in. You can ask someone you authorise to make a request on your behalf.
Children
Our shop is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
